Since the age of five, when I first entered my father's aviaries, I have been fascinated by birds. Spending my early childhood on the urban fringes of Sydney, I had ample opportunity to explore the world of nature and my fascination spread from birds to insects, plants, mammals, frogs, reptiles...everything.
As an adult I have deepened my study and experience of nature and toured Australia more extensively, all the while honing my birding skills and knowledge. I took up guiding visitors through the Sydney bushland in my own small scale eco-tourism venture, have served as Warden of the Birds Australia Broome Bird Observatory and have completed Post Graduate studies in Ornithology. Currently, I work as a freelance Ornithologist, Tour Guide and Presenter. Visit Redtail, my professional web site, or try my blog: Bird Note.

Much in my life has sharpened my skills and contributed to my success as a presenter and interpretive guide. With a background as varied as an Executive Sports Administrator, Web Animator, Aerobics Instructor, Gym Manager and Secretary, as well as a successful athlete, I am well equipped with communication skills and the fitness required for working with people in the outdoors.
